Introducing The Lord Jesus To You
Intimately you may not have known Him, I know that He knows you because the Bible tells us in Psalms 139:13-14; “For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works,
And that my soul knows very well”. God knows you even before you were conceived and when you arrived this world, you came in His image!
Friendship, Acceptance and Love
From the start of your life, God was there. And if you feel a little whisper in your heart right now, that is His Holy Spirit calling you into a new relationship of deep intimacy and love. If you have ever been told that following Jesus (being a Christian) is a bunch of do’s and don’ts, I can tell you that isn’t true. It is about friendship, acceptance and love. But in addition to that; it is also about total surrender and counting the cost. It cost Him everything when He went to the cross on your behalf and it should cost you everything when you make Him the Lord of your life. That’s a serious & an important step and you should consider it carefully.
God’s Love
I can confirm to you that He is worth knowing more than any other person you have ever met; there is a little spot in the center of our hearts that is empty and lonely waiting for God’s love and Jesus is the only one who can fill it. He is the only one who can take away all of our sins as if they had never been committed; Hebrews 8:12, Isaiah 43:25. He accepts us as we are and then transforms us into who God created us to be: our best selves – our real destiny.
One of my very favourite things about Jesus is that you can be honest with Him; in fact, things actually go much better if you remember that. You can always tell Him what you really think and how you really feel. Talking to Him every day and spending time with Him will be the way you stay close and intimate with Him for the rest of your life… that is if you decide to meet Him.
The First Step
Are you ready to take the first step? This isn’t like a job application or admission to a selective university. All you have to do is to be as sincere as possible. I didn’t meet Jesus in a Church or through another person, although that is fine and many have found Him that way; I was alone in my bedroom. This is all about the heart. The Bible say in Roman 10:10; “For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” The procedure is to simply ask Him to come into your heart. Tell Him you are ready to make Him the Lord of your life. Tell Him you are done with your own ways and your own plans; ask Him to make you clean from every wrong thing you have ever done. Tell Him you love Him and you will follow Him for the rest of your life as He gives you the grace to do so. Use your own words; speak out of your own heart. That’s it. That is the first step to the rest of your life then don’t go back into the world of sin.
The Second Step
Make sure you study the Bible and dedicate more time to the Lord; study the book of John especially and all the Bible as a whole. The Bible says in 1 Peter 2:2, “As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby” and 2 Tim. 2:15 (KJV) “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” Also, fellowship with Him, seek Him all the time and make the Holy Spirit your partner, Jeremiah 29:13.
If you are making this step now I rejoice with on this very important decision. You have a marvelous trip ahead of you and I rejoice with you.
The Lord Almighty whom we serve will continually bless you and guide you from this day onward in Jesus Name!
