As a church, their is law and order, checks and balances to prevent the excesses that may want to arise; also, in Acts 6:1-7, there was an agreement by the Apostles, when they discovered some issues that required Spiritual attention to appoint some faithful and honest men who will attend to these Spiritual matters. So they prayed for the nominated ministers “and the Word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith”
